Now, in 2017, on the eve of the beginning of the Riviera Maya Jazz Festival, musicians of the stature of Cecilia Toussaint, Jimmy Herrings and John McLaughlin will bring to the present beautiful images of a memorable past,  a past that has made us what we are: an unparalleled festival full of great musicians.

Autumn in the Riviera Maya

We are in the middle autumn. A pleasant feeling of nostalgia comes to us in the increasingly cooler afternoons. The year is very close to finishing, it is true, but there are still pending tasks. What can we do to make the most of the energetic sensation that the weather transmits us in November? Enjoy a weekend at the Riviera Maya. Why?

For the delights of the weather

23660616_135065283928463_1842823625_o

A weekend in the Riviera Maya is an excellent option because, during this time, the day temperatures are around 25 degrees, the hurricane season is over, and the partly cloudy skies allow you to enjoy long moments of relaxation on the sand.

For the feeling of exclusivity

23634010_135061853928806_1759203941_o

Not all people have the opportunity (or the courage) to decide to give themselves a weekend of joy in a paradisiac destination, even if it is not a holiday season. So, to you who have the chance, and know you deserve it, November gives you the opportunity to feel at your ease both on the beaches, as in the shopping centers and pedestrian streets of Playa del Carmen, Tulum and other places in the Maya Riviera.

For the discounts

23659926_135065047261820_451197958_o

Also, the prices go down. Offers abound this season. You will not believe the discounts in the most exclusive rooms with dream services. Also, airlines offer special rates, so it does not matter if you live in New York, Tijuana or CDMX: the trip does not have to last more than a few hours.

As you can see, several factors make the last weeks of November and the first weeks of December a jewel of opportunity for those who want to pamper themselves, enjoy the charm of the season and take advantage of low prices. Of course, as we said before, this opportunity is only for those who do not think twice about taking action to enjoy life.

Day of the Dead in the Riviera Maya’s Paradise

The celebration of the Day of the Dead is the best window into the most spectacular Mexican traditions. In the Riviera Maya, during the early days of November, the aromas and colors of ceremonial dishes emerge from the darkness of the jungle into the fresh, early mornings of autumn.

Before dawn, in the small millenary villages, marketers, sellers of achiote, fresh maize dough, banana leaves and spices wander through the streets and enter the courtyards where the activity has been going on for hours. At noon, tables and altars show tamales, sweets, and bread prepared thinking in the beloved ones who are gone… but who return, only for a few moments, to share with their families.

All the mysticism of the Day of the Dead festivities in the Riviera Maya mixes with the gorgeous weather: sunny skies, warm noons, cool evenings and bright moons. The temperature of the sea and the wind seem to agree to please the skin. And if that was not enough, the Riviera Maya offers two unparalleled opportunities to immerse yourself in the great Mexican tradition of the Day of the Dead:

Don’t give it a second thought, from the 30th of October to the 2nd of November, come to Riviera Maya and walk cheerfully through life and death, in a way only possible in Mexico!

Adventures are the best school for the human being. Men and women of all times have left testimonies of how much it enhances the spirit to spend a season in nature and face its challenges. Proof of this is that adventures have inspired great works of Art of all genres.

Ernest Hemingway, the great American writer, is perhaps the greatest representative of the adventurers of the twentieth century. His books impacted the world because they were, first and foremost, an excellent account of his adventures, many of which occurred in the Caribbean Sea.

The painter Paul Gauguin decided to change the luxury of Parisian boulevards for the palm trees, volcanoes and transparent waters of Tahiti. His paintings took on the character that made them world famous, precisely for bringing to the canvas what until then the Western world did not know.

One of the most celebrated musicians of the 20th century, the American Aaron Copland, made natural landscapes his source of inspiration. “An outdoor adventure” and “Appalachian Spring,” two of his best-known compositions, are inspired by the adventures in the mountains of his country.

Do you feel motivated to live an adventure on your next vacation? The Riviera Maya is the perfect place to make it happen. It has 120 kilometers of jungle coast, where you can find cenotes, underground rivers, reefs, and vestiges of ancient cultures. No doubt, here you could become the adventurous explorer who will give the world the next great work of Art … or at least find an enormous fun that will help you get back home being an improved version of yourself.

In the Riviera Maya, celebrating Mexico is celebrating life

In case some of our readers do not know, the Riviera Maya is Mexico. Not only do I mean that this paradise strip of the Caribbean Sea is part of the Mexican territory.  What I want to emphasize is that the Riviera Maya is home to people living accordingly to Mexican traditions and customs; since the tastes, colors, and sounds of the jungle and mangroves of the Riviera Maya make out part of the fabric of the great cultural tapestry of Mexicanity. That is why immersing yourself in the clear waters of the Riviera Maya, wandering among the rainforest, running on white beaches or diving into a cenote are spectacular ways to celebrate Mexico along with Mexicans.

Ancestral flavors to celebrate Mexican

Mexican food has been declared an Immaterial Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. Such a distinction is not only due to the talent of the great chefs we have had throughout our history. The main reason is the biodiversity of our country, which allows making available to cuisine lovers the most varied ingredients. If you decide to enjoy the Mexican celebrations in the Riviera Maya, you will have at your disposal the most representative dishes from all over Mexico, prepared by the best chefs and seasoned by the atmosphere of paradise.

Undoubtedly, in Playa del Carmen, Tulum or the dozens of hotels located along the more than 120 kilometers of the Riviera Maya, you will find the best dance floors to celebrate Mexico, which, by the way, is something that NOT ONLY Mexicans can celebrate.
